Antique 18K Gold Minute Repeater Pocket Watch. Switzerland, Circa 1900

Superb antique 18K gold minute repeater pocket watch with chronometer, made in Switzerland circa 1900 and in fine condition. Minute-repeater pocket watches are extremely rare, a feature that turns this item into a real collectors piece. The clock is quite big (59 mm wide) and is entirely made of gold. The front and rear caps bear no decoration at all and remain amazingly preserved, looking shiny and even. The watch has a white dial with black Roman numerals and poire gilded hands. It is in amazing condition except for two tiny hairlines near the secondary hand, hardly noticeable to the naked eye. Inside the front and rear cap we can see several marks and inscriptions which testify for the watchs quality and ancient age. We can see the 18K gold mark in both caps; the rear cap bears the complete serial number engraved in the metal, while the front cap only shows the three last ciphers (606). Moreover, these inscriptions are accompanied by the Swiss gold hallmark, especially visible at the rear cap. Under the rear cap there is a third piece, a dustcap with a number of inscriptions and details about the movement. Among them we can see the serial number stated before and different award medals. Under the dustcap (which bears the same hallmarks and numbers engraved inside) we discover the delicate and wonderful movement, in great working order.
