Antique Doxa Erotic Pocket Watch. Hand-Painted Dial. Switzerland, Circa 1910

Antique Doxa pocket watch with hand-painted automaton erotic scene, signed, made in Switzerland circa 1910 and in excellent condition. This is quite a big watch (70 mm diameter), in fine working order, being also a rare and original item. The dial is decorated with an erotic scene, painted by order afterwards; we can see the brush strokes applied by the artist who assumed the decoration. The image has an automaton part: the female figures arm moves with the watchs movement. The dial has black Arab hour markers and golden straight metal hands. The casing is made of silver-plated metal and preserves the original glass front lid. The rear cap bears a mark with the brand name DOXA and an inscription guaranteeing that the casing is made of silver-plated metal. At the bottom we can see an engraved serial number, 1528602. The dustcap is adorned with hand-engraved medals corresponding to prizes awarded to the brand. The movement is also signed by Doxa.
