Beautiful Big-Sized Regulateur Pocket Watch with Rear Enamel. Circa 1890-1900

Beautiful big-sized regulateur pocket watch with rear enamel, made between 1890 and 1900 and in fine condition. The watch has blued-metal casing and works well, being an attractive and functional item. With 67 mm of diameter, it is a piece with an important presence. The casing is composed of two metal rear caps, a front glass cap (original from the time) and a dustcap also made of glass. The outer rear cap is a gorgeous piece: it is decorated with an enamel which covers it completely, depicting a young woman in profile with a complicated hairstyle which was in fashion at the time. The enameled decoration shows a rich array of colors: over a bright red background, the woman looks to the left and lifts her proud profile. She is wearing a sparkling blue shawl and her hairstyle is adorned with metal details shaped as purple flowers and green leaves. The portrait is delicate and full of detail. The watchs dial is made of white porcelain, with the name Regulateur printed at the 12 position and black Roman hour markers. It mounts golden metal Louis XV hands.
