Beautiful Antique 18K Gold Ladies’ Pocket Watch. France, Circa 1900

Beautiful antique 18K gold ladies pocket watch made in France circa 1900 and in very good condition. The watch works fine and shows a great hand-engraved decoration which covers all its surface. The crown which frames the dial is adorned with stylized vegetal motifs which look like reeds or palm leaves, while the rear cap is decorated with a romantic scene depicting a floral composition on a rail. To the left, a parchment with scrolls leaves some free space to engrave the owners initials. The white porcelain dial has black Arab numerals and golden Louis-XV-style hands. Over the dial, the pendant has a horsehead-shaped hallmark which identifies French gold pieces made at the turn of the century. Inside the rear cap and the dustcap we can see this hallmark again, together with the serial number 12301. Last but not least, the movement remains in fine working order.
