Gorgeous 14K Gold Ladies’ Pocket Watch. Perret & Cie. Switzerland, Circa 1880

Gorgeous 14K gold ladies pocket watch, signed by Perret & Cie and with a striking design. The gold casing shows a very uncommon shape, being a very attractive piece. It is surely a beautiful watch, for its peculiar design and the engraved and embossed decoration it shows. It is in working order and is a perfectly functional piece. The case has three gold caps; the rear cap has an oval-shaped gap, probably designed to house a photograph. They all have hallmarks. Outside, the cap is adorned with engraved scrolls, shapes and tiny motifs. The dial is made of silver and has black Roman numerals and hands. It is embellished with ormolu details. Under the rear cap we find a beautiful polished-gold dustcap with different hand-engraved inscriptions. We can see the manufacturers name, Perret & Cie, and the serial number 123102. This same number is engraved inside this cap, together with the hallmarks.
