Antique David Rivers verge-fusee pocket watch with two silver cases, made in London, England in 1779 and in good condition. The outer case shows a fine hand-engraved decoration, with a romantic scene at the rear cap which depicts a couple with a dog in a rural background, by a classic-style building. The front cap is made of glass and has a silver frame with engraved flowers and scrolls. The well-preserved white porcelain dial has Fassonzeiger black hands and black Roman numerals. The inner case is made of silver too and has a small sliding door which hides the keyhole. The rear cap has some hallmarks which stand for the watch’s ancient age, quality and origin.
