Wonderful and valuable pocket watch, a real luxury antique that has survived to our days in perfect condition and working order. This is a Waltham watch, made in the USA and with box and caps made of solid 14-carat gold. Both the box and the movement show their corresponding serial numbers that indicate that the item was made in 1903. The American Waltham Watch Company was founded in 1850 to produce watches, clocks, speedometers, compasses and other precision instruments. In 1907 its name changed to Waltham Watch Co. and in 1923 to Waltham Watch and Clock Company. Finally, in 1925 it was eventually called Waltham Watch Company and it kept this name until 1957, when it ceased producing watches and started to be known as Waltham Precision Instrument Company. This particular pocket watch has the initials A.W.W.Co engraved in the movement together with the inscription MASS, the abbreviation of Massachusetts, the American state where the factory was located. The box is entirely made of delicate 14-carat pink gold, something so stated inside the rear cap, where we can see an inscription that says WWCCO 14 K and guarantees the metals high quality and the serial number 53571. The number is also engraved inside the front cap while we can also see it in the box, engraved in faces frame, though in this case it has one cipher missing (the first 5) and is written upside down: 35371. The outside caps and dust cap are also perfectly preserved. Outside the watch is embellished with a stylish engraved decoration with a flat shield in the center of the front cap.The face is white with fine black and red numbers, and it contains a smaller face with a subsidiary second just below. It is in great condition, with no hairlines or visible flaws. The word Waltham appears again just over the needles. On the other hand, the movement is also really beautiful and is decorated with nice vegetal-inspired engravings and abstract motives. The movement has the serial number printed in the metal: 12388484, which corresponds to the watches that the A.W.W.Co manufactured in 1903. The noble metal this lovely pocket watch is made of, its perfect working order, its ancient age and the reputation of the company that made it are reasons enough for any lover of antique watches to want it for his or her collection.Measurements: Width: 48 mm. Height: 66 mm.
