Antique Gold Plated Metal Pocket Watch, 1890. Very well preserved and working.

Fine ancient golden metal pocket watch made in 1890. This is an exclusive item, more than one hundred years old but working just like new. This watch is made of golden and is in very good condition except for some slight dents, which are surely part of its life and do not interfere at all in its delicate beauty. The front cap is adorned with a nice engraved decoration in the shape of a mesh composed of tiny diamonds, and just in the center there is a shield surrounded by floral motives intended to be engraved with the owners initials.At the rear we can see a similar decoration with two small concentric circles in the center. At the bottom of both caps we can see the same schematic vegetal-inspired engraving. The ring is flat and the crown shows the classical striated finish. If we lift the watchs front cap we will see its face, with a nice ochre background and slim filigree needles made of copper-finished metal. The numbers are Roman and there is a second file (in this case, of Arabic numbers) with a series of ciphers from 13 to 24 corresponding to p.m. hours. On the other hand, inside the rear cap we can see part of the serial number that was once engraved over the hinge. Only the numbers 19 and 1 remain visible while the rest seem to have been erased by the trace of time and use.The dust cap is nicely engraved with beautiful engravings and inscription describing some of the movements features. At the top we can see five medals with different pictures that probably testify for the honor mentions that the manufacturer was awarded. REMONTOIR stands for a kind of movement, while FABRICATION SOIGNEE means refined manufacturing. If we open this cap we will reach the watchs movement, in optimal condition and perfect working order.This pocket watch is both a wonderful antique piece and a functional item, being the perfect gift for any lover of ancient watches.Measurements: Height: 62 mm.
