Suitcase Record Player, 70's

This amazing vintage record player is a suitcase model, also known as pick up. It is a Stibert 708 record player, a classic Spanish model from the 1970s. It was manufactured in Barcelona and has survived to our days in an amazing condition. Its mechanism has been fully fine-tuned so today it works wonderfully. The record player can play 16/33/45/78 RPM records as it has a selector that makes it possible to choose the format. By the turntable we can see four silvery knobs to adjust the volume, the balance, the bass and the treble. Over these knobs there is a metal plate with the record players model number: 708 RED TRANS. In some other parts, the device bears other plates with the brand name STIBERT. The company was founded by Ricardo Fernandez in 20-22 Margarit Street, Barcelona. In the early times they manufactured valve radios and the firm was known as Stibert Radio. Later they focused in sound equipment and changed the name for Stibert Sonido (Stibert Sound). The record players main body contains the turntable, the mechanism and the stated knobs. The turntables base is made of dark wood and the case is covered by grey black faux leather. This piece has the carrying handle too. The speakers are similar in design and remain in excellent condition; they can be mounted on the record player so they close the set and turn it into a compact and easy-to-carry suitcase. The locks are the original ones and work perfectly. Every lover of vintage record players and vinyl records will appreciate this Seibert models charm and history.
