This gorgeous liturgical cruet set is a very antique piece, made in France at the end of the 19th century or the biginning of the 2oth century, and that in spite of being more than one hundred years old, has survived to our days in magnificent condition. The set is composed of two delicate golden brass and hand-engraved glass cruets that stand on a tray adorned with pink polished-glass stones. The set displays a great elegance and is a very antique and decorative item. The cruets show a romantic and naturalistic style, with a lot of curves and an amazing combination of materials. The transparent and fragile glass and the solid shiny brass create a beautiful mixture. Each cruet has a fine engraved glass body. The motives that decorate both pieces are different: one cruet is decorated with fig leaves (related with the Eucharistic wine) and the other has bunches of reeds. This feature makes them even more special. The bases of the cruets are made of engraved brass; the glass vases bear two brass rings connected to the handle. This piece is shaped as a curved reed that joins the top lid. The lids are also decorated with engraved vegetal-inspired details. The tray where the cruet set stands on is decorated in a similar way. The metal is hand-engraved with subtle motives depicting fig leaves and reeds, located on both sides of the pieces. In the center we can see a schematic and discreet flower. There are three pink polished-glass stones on each side of the tray; these elements combine perfectly with the golden color of the brass and the transparent quality of the glass.Measurements (Complete Set): Width: 10.2 in / 26 cm.
