Huge bronze altar cross. S.XIX. 70 cms of height

Beautiful altar cross made in bronze with a height of 70 cms. The base is decorated with 3 enameled Greek crosses. One of the nails of the Christ has been replaced by a modern screw. The stem of the cross is decorated with geometric and floral motifs very typical of Northern Europe in the 19th century. The cross is topped at its other 3 ends by fleurs-de-lis, so it is almost certainly of French origin. Very nice.
