This impressive golden-silver chalice is undoubtedly a magnificent silversmithing work. It was made in France in the 19th century, and the silver shows beautiful engravings all over its surface. The piece comes in its original case, together with its paten and some cleansing and handling accessories made of cambric: a long stole, a handling glove and a tissue for cleaning the inside. All the pieces are worth admiring, and even more if we consider the wonderful condition of the chalice and the paten. On the chalice we can see some vegetal motives engraved on the base, and there is also a Latin cross. In the center there are fine leaves and geometrical flowers engraved on the silver, making up am elegant neogothic-style piece. There are also some stamps, one of them showing what seems to be the name of the silversmith. The paten is small but is also in good condition. On it we can see the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God), symbolizing Jesus Christ as the savior of the world. The image of the Lamb is surrounded by the inscription Agnus Dei Panis Vivus. Overall, this is a royal chalice that has been in hundred of masses, a piece as valuable as evocative. Chalice Measurements: 250 mm height x 165 mm width. Weight: 710 g. Paten Measurements: 12 cm diameter. Weight: 290 g.
