Outstanding solid-silver chalice with hand-engraved decoration, adorned with a gold crucifix and seven old-cut diamonds. The chalice comes with a fine silver paten decorated with a lovely hand-engraved motive. The chalice and the paten come from France and were made in the 19th century; they are in excellent condition. They come in an antique case, perfect to store and carry them. If we turn the chalice upside down, into the base we will find the following hand-engraved inscription: LEMPEREUR PIERRE 29 JUN 1924. The chalices base is decorated with a delicate fringe composed of embossed leaves. This decoration can also be seen in the cup. But probably the most remarkable feature of this piece is the magnificent solid gold crucifix attached to the base. Located at the front of the chalice, it was made some years later: it bears an engraved inscription with the number 1935. Surrounding the crucifix there are seven real old-cut diamonds that together with the gold piece turn the chalice into a great work of sacred art. The chalices central node is circular in shape and is divided in wedges. Over it, the silver cup boasts the fringe stated before, a nice decoration with ivy stems and leaves. On the other hand, the silver paten is embellished by a gorgeous hand-engraved cross with lobed ends. The cross has a flower in the center with fig stems trimmed by grape bunches and leaves. This motive is full of elegance and delicacy and turns this paten into the perfect companion for the impressive chalice. This antique and rich chalice and paten set make up a really beautiful and historic set, with a stately presence. Measurements: Chalice: Bases Width: 5.11 in / 13 cm. Cups Width: 4.13 in / 10.5 cm.
