Great Hand-Carved Antique Ivory Christ in Good Condition. France, 18th-19th Century Amazing antique Christ made of real quality ivory, carved by hand with great attention to detail and in perfect condition. This is an image of the Savior dated between the 18th and 19th centuries; this means that it is more than 200 years old. The Christ comes with a CITES certificate and remains in very good condition: it shows no broken or worn parts and preserves all the original parts except the cross (probably a wooden piece that got lost). The sculpture stands out for its expressive face that shows Jesus Christs pain and despair during martyrdom. Its hands are gorgeous, with delicate and finely-carved fingers full of movement and elegance. The cloth that covers the images waist is also realistically carved, and so are the tightening cords.
