Fine antique solid-silver ciborium with hallmarks, more than 150 years old and in very good condition. This beautiful piece for liturgical use comes from Belgium and is dated in 1850. The ciborium shows off a lovely engraved decoration and has a circular stepped base that turns it into an airy and stylish piece. The place where the base connects the stem is decorated with leave-shaped motifs, while the rest of the ciborium bears similar engraved vegetal-inspired details. The lid is crowned by a gorgeous silver-filigree cross with delicate engravings. Both the cup and the base bear ancient hallmarks we can see the mark that identifies Belgian-silver articles and the silversmiths mark. Inside the cup shows off a shiny gilded finish, a classic detail that can be seen in all ciboria. This finish is compulsory, as the surface is bound to remain in contact with the Consecrated Hosts.
