Very antique Spanish solid-silver monstrance, made in Spain in the 18th century and in fine condition. This monstrance is a really beautifully piece, very well preserved though being more than two centuries old. One of the glasses show a slight flaw at the edge, but this detain does not interfere at all in the magnificent general look of the monstrance, which is a piece worthy of inclusion in the best collection of sacred art. All the parts are made of solid silver; at the foot we can see three hallmarks which testify for the pieces origin, ancient age and quality. The circular foot is adorned with embossed cherubs head, connected by leafy garlands. Between them there are medals with some Catholic symbols: the Lamb of God, the wheat stalks and the bunches of grapes, together with a Phoenix. The mast which connects the foot and the sunburst is molded as a column; the sunburst is decorated with more cherubs and is crowned by a gorgeous cross. The central glass capsule preserves the original lunette inside. This amazing antique Spanish solid-silver monstrance is an exclusive piece, for its great beauty and ancient age.
