Vintage Solid-Silver Spanish Chalice. Spain, 1970s-80s

Beautiful vintage solid-silver Spanish chalice, made in Spain in the 1970s-80s and with antique French paten (circa 1930). This attractive set for the celebration of Eucharist is in fine condition; the chalice is adorned with a detailed hand-engraved decoration in the style of those years. The circular base is decorated with a band depicting a crown of thorns, with a seventies-style cross at the front. The edge bears the hallmarks which testify for the chalices quality and precedence. The stem, lean and conical in shape, bears a node adorned with a flowery and thorny branch. This decoration can be seen at the cup, though bigger and more detailed. At the cups edge we see the same hallmarks that we discover at the foot, perfectly marked in the metal surface. Under the base there is an engraved inscription which reads MADE IN SPAIN. On the other hand, the paten is embellished with a central cross inside a diamond; the background shows a punctured pattern which creates a fine texture. At the edge we can see the French silver hallmark and the silversmiths mark.
