Beautiful antique solid-silver monstrance made in Paris, France between 1818 and 1832. This amazing silverware piece stands out for its fine look and hand-engraved decoration. It is in good condition preserves the original central glass capsule the lunette, which show no cracks or flaws. At the foot and the two top rays we can see some hallmarks which testify for the articles quality and ancient age. Some rays are repaired, which is normal for a 200 year old piece. The square-section foot is adorned with handmade embossed and engraved images depicting Christian symbols: the Lamb of God, a triangle in the sky which symbolizes God, and the wheat stalks and bunches of grapes (the Eucharist bread and wine). The stem is a fine piece composed of several nodes of different shapes and sizes. The top sunburst has a lovely central decoration depicting matt-finished clouds with cherubs heads. The monstrance is crowned by a simple and elegant Latin cross. This wonderful antique solid-silver monstrance is a collectors piece, as beautiful as authentic.
