Gorgeous antique solid-silver chalice made in France in the late 19th century, elegant, discreet and in fine condition. This fantastic piece stands out for its balanced design and its great and simple decoration. It bears hallmarks at the foot and the cup, clearly visible. This piece mounts an ample lobed foot with medieval-inspired hand-engraved decoration. The different sections are separated by lance-shaped leaves which start at the stem, creating a fluid and fine connection between both parts. The silver is adorned with a delicate tiny dotted pattern; at the front section we can see a circular cross (Canterbury Cross). The stem has a small node with neo-gothic ornamentation; over the node we can see the gilded-silver cup with a subcup composed of hand-engraved long leaves, similar to those at the foot. Beautiful and timeless, this antique solid-silver chalice is a very special piece, original from the time. Dimensions: Foots Width: 5.51 in / 14 cm. Cups Width: 3.35 in / 8.5 cm.
