Beautiful antique Spanish solid-silver chalice (100% silver), made in Spain in the 19th century and in very good condition. It is accompanied by an elegant and sober paten, also made of silver (no hallmarks) and with gilt edge. The chalice bears hallmarks of Barcelona and the silversmiths mark too, currently illegible. It could correspond to Tomás Soler or José Casas, but we cannot be sure of it. The foot is circular and is adorned with embossed and engraved motifs. It has three medallions, one with the Cross and two with busts of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. Between the medallions we can see three embossed winged cherubs heads. The nodes are embellished with symmetrical abstract shapes and the subcup bears three cherubs heads and Christian symbols: two columns and a parchment with the inscription INRI. The cup is straight and is gilt inside. This magnificent and antique Spanish solid-silver chalice with paten, 100% silver, will stand out on an altar, during the Consecration or as part of the best collection or religious silverwork.
