Fine antique Jewish solid-silver yad coming from Israel, probably made in the mid-20th century. This is a lovely antique for liturgical use, made by hand and with a delicate ornamentation. The yad is used during the reading of the Torah, to follow the text without touching the sacred scroll with the fingers. The one we are looking at shows the classic design of these object: a shaft with a tiny hand at one end with the index finger pointing. It bears a hallmark with the inscription STERLING HANDMADE ISRAEL, which confirms that the piece is made of solid silver. The yad is decorated with three horizontal bands made of silver openwork appliqués, one at the center and the other two at the ends. Delicate and special, this antique Jewish solid-silver yad is worthy to become part of a great collection of liturgical antiques. Dimensions: Lenght: 7.67 in / 19.5 cm. Weight: 23 g.
