Large Bronze Tabernacle with Gilt Wooden Pedestal. 37.8 in. Circa 1950

Big bronze tabernacle or sacrarium with gilt wooden pedestal, 37.8 inches high and made circa 1950. We are looking at a really spectacular item, entirely made of bronze except for the pedestal it stands on. This particular piece is made of gilt wood. It is also engraved by hand. Both the sacrarium and the pedestal remain in excellent condition, though the bronze could improve with a polish or cleaning in order to regain its full splendor as some areas appear darkened.The sacrarium is adorned with bronze appliqués and motifs, classic in style and really beautiful. The door is decorated with an image of the Lamb of God at the center of a cross and the Eucharistic symbols at the corners. The sides and the back of the sacrarium show floral motifs and cherubs heads. The inside of this piece is engraved too we can see the acronym of Jesus Christ, IHS, clearly marked at the bottom. The sacrarium is crowned by a set of delicate curve bronze rods which end at a top crown. The door preserves the original lock and key set in working order. This big bronze tabernacle with gilt wooden pedestal, 37.8 inches high, will really shine in the apse of a church, being a great accessory for the celebration of mass.
