Beautiful antique elaborated 18th-century silver holly water font or home stoup, made in Ausburg, Germany in 1735 and in very good condition. This delicate and very antique religious-silverwork piece stands out for its great hand-engraved decoration, of neoclassic style and remarkably beautiful. In the center, inside an almond-shaped frame we can see the image of Virgin Mary with Child Jesus in Her arms, framed by Pompeiian-style garlands and crowned by a cross flanked by angels. At the bottom of the stoup there is a vessel for the holy water, covered by a hinged silver scallop-shaped lid. The vessel is adorned with an image of the Lamb of God. At the back of the stoup there are three hallmarks the A corresponds to the city of Augsburg and the period between years 1735 and 1735, which lets us date this piece accurately. This beautiful elaborated 18th-century silver home stoup stands out for its quality, ancient age and spectacular look. It is truly worthy of a museum of sacred art.
