Ecce Homo, oil on copper of the Spanish School painted in the 18th century and in very good condition. This amazing painting shows a powerful expression and a profound spiritual feel, both features being typical of the baroque Spanish School of painting. The image shows Jesus Christ with a blue garment and a red cloak, holding a cane scepter and wearing a crown of thorns. These are the attributes given to him by the soldiers before the Crucifixion, in order to mock him. Our Lords face shows a great expressiveness, mixing pain and serenity in a really subtle and masterful portrait. The hands are wonderfully painted too, perfectly shaped and with a deep realistic feel. The painting is framed by a beautiful water-gilt wooden molding with complicated corner ornaments: the perfecty accessory to enhance the beauty and the quality of this amazing painting. This Ecce Homo, oil on copper of the Spanish School is a superb antique and a real work of art, full of religious intensity. Dimensions: Painting: Width: 7.28 in / 18.5 cm. Height: 9.29 in / 23.6 cm.
