Gorgeous Antique Bejeweled Gilt Metal Monstrance. France, Circa 1900

Gorgeous bejeweled gilt metal monstrance, made in France circa 1900 and in very good condition. This beautiful piece is more than 120 years old and is still an amazing sample of liturgical metalwork. It is complete and all its parts are finely preserved, from the beams to the solid silver lunette. The foot is adorned with schematic and symmetrical wheat stalks, scattered with red crystals. The node is also embellished with the same crystals, which are also present outside the sunburst and the cross which crowns the monstrance. The sunburst is a fine piece, with a lot of straight and wavy beams and the center adorned with a crown of carved white crystals. The silver lunette preserves the glass panes, being also in excellent condition. The top cross is elegant and complicated, with the arms trimmed by stylized wheat stalks.
