Large 925-silver liturgical censer made in Spain circa 1950, complete and in very good condition. This awesome piece is complete and comes with the original metal recipient used to burn the incense; it is also in perfect use condition. This piece stands out for its big size as it is 13.77 inches high, so it is a superb and imposing article. The censer is entirely made of high-quality silver, including the chains. At the bottom we can see two hallmarks which guarantee it - one with the silver proportion, 925, and other with the inscription PLAYEN. The surface is covered with embossed and engraved motifs: scrolls and schematic flowers and leaves which make up a classic and harmonious design. The top part shows cut holes to let the aromatic smoke out, when the censer is in use. The chain which connect the top and bottom part are held by gargoyles and tritons, a detail which provides the design with a charming and singular quality.

This big 925-silver censer is an exclusive piece, worthy of an important church or the best collection of religious silverware.
