Smart set for the Eucharistic celebration, consisting of a silver and gilded bronze chalice and a silver paten. Both pieces are in great condition and were made in France in the 19th century. The set comes in its original case, an antique box lined on the inside with satin and red velvet. The chalices cup is made of solid silver, while the node and the base are made of gilded bronze. This pieces stylized silhouette and beautiful engraved decoration, matching the paten, turn it into a highly decorative item. The chalices cup bears two hallmarks with guarantee the quality of the silver it is made of. The bronze base also bears a stamp or signature with the shape of a winged head over two capital letters: NR. The metal keeps the nice original gilded patina, which covers the whole piece both inside and outside. All the parts are decorated with vegetal-inspired fringes that depict grapevine plants with bunches of grapes and leaves. This plant is the symbol of wine as Jesus Christs Blood that the chalice is meant to house. On the other hand, the paten is also made of solid silver and bears the same hallmarks as the chalices cup. It is decorated with a big Greek cross surrounded by a circular fringe with the same grapevine design as the chalice, matching it. Both pieces come in the original case, thanks to which the items have come to us in great condition.
