Antique Hand-Carved Mahogany Storing Case for Monstrances until 88 cm high. 19th Century

Fine antique hand-carved wooden storing case for monstrances until 88 cm high. This piece is original from the 19th century and was made and carved by hand. It remains in quite good condition. The mahogany wood is well preserved and displays its gorgeous golden reddish color, with a deep veneer and different shades. The hinges are in working order though they do show signs of the trace of time. The case is decorated with hand-carved motifs: the doors are embellished with a silhouette of a monstrance, carved in low relief and with the acronym IHS. The base bears a hand-carved border composed of triangles. The carved motifs are textured with dots. Inside the case is covered by dark red velvet, also finely preserved.
