This stylish sterling silver jar was made in the first third of the 20th century. It is surely a very decorative piece that will provide a classy table with a touch of elegance. It is also perfect to become part of a good collection of quality silver articles. The jar is designed to contain wine, something that we can deduce from its capacity: one liter. It is made of silver 900, a number engraved at the base of the piece. Together with this number we can also see another hallmark, probably the silversmiths mark, with the word Ringiliz. The design of the jar is undoubtedly modernist, typical of the arts-and-crafts movement from the early 1900s. It is stylized and free, with wavy and asymmetrical shapes. The jars body is concave at the base and narrows progressively to the top mouth. This part is decorated with vertical wavy lines that provide the jar with a quite interesting feeling of movement. The base that supports the jar is made of hand-engraved silver, with a naturalistic decoration and four small legs. The jars mouth is similar to the base and bears a baroque hand-engraved decoration depicting vine branches and bunches of grapes (symbols of the wine the jar is designed to contain and pour). From it a slim and elegant handle comes out, and there is also a silver lid that is attached to the jar by a hinge. The lid also boasts a careful engraved decoration and is crowned by two curved volutes that serve as a pulling knob. This silver wine jars beauty and smartness turn it into the perfect accessory for a glamorous table. It will be the star of every celebration.Measurements: Width: 15 cm/5.9 in. Height: 32 cm/12.5 in. Weighs 890 grames of silver
