This impressive sterling silver tea vessel is a beautifully designed piece, made in France in the 19th century and with hallmarks in different parts. The piece boasts an uncommon beauty, with an elegant body that rests on three hand-engraved legs. The handle is made of solid ebony wood, whose black surface and matt finish create a lovely contrast with the silvers shine. The piece bears hallmarks in different parts and we can also see two engraved initials: the gothic letters D. C. At the vessels mouth we can see some hallmarks that indicate the French origin of this piece and guarantee its quality. Under them we find the silversmiths mark with the word VEYRAT, correspondent to the French silversmith Jean Françoise Veyrat. There is also a mark with a profile of Atenea, the Roman goddess; it is the mark for the French silver. The piece has a convex body and flat that narrows at the top. The legs, the spout and the lid are profusely decorated with hand-engraved reliefs. These reliefs are vegetal-inspired and boast a baroque style performance. They are engraved in the shape of leaves, flowers and plants and the detail that crowns the lid is especially attention-drawing. This is an almost extent piece in the shape of a closed flowers that rests on a series of ample leaves, scattered all over the lid. As stated before, the tea vessels handle is made of a softly curved piece of ebony wood. Its surface boasts an elegant matt finish, perfect to complete this pieces elegant look. This silver and ebony tea vessel will be the starring piece of the best collection of antique silver designs. Measurements: Weight: 500 g. Width: 5.9 in/15 cm. Height: 9 in/23 cm.
