Extraordinary pocket watch holder, made in Germany between 1860 and 1900. Of course it is 100% original and is a real beauty. Masterfully decorated in the form of a cherub supporting a seashell ending in a mythological fish with a hook for the watch. The rest of the shell is to deposit the fob of the watch, although the model in my photo does not have it. It weighs 400 grams, although it is not all silver as the base is counterweighted to prevent it from tipping over with the weight of the watches. The silversmith contrasts are on the side. It measures 17.5 cms in height. The clock is photographed as a sample and is not included in this auction, however it is for sale this very week.
