This is a beautiful vinegar set from XIX c. consisting on a solid silver base and two original glass bottles. We must emphasize de undulating shape of the edge of the bottles, the mouth marked by beautiful waves, and two elegant blocks ending the piece. The magnificent decoration in the solid silver is based on vegetable forms, which continues through the base of the tray with sinuous and curved forms. It shows also marks in silver to ensure its date and location. They are in perfect condition, completely original. The first vinegar sets, in its most primitive form, consisted on two little bottles, one for the oil and one for vinegar, being entirely of silver in the early years, from eighteenth century onwards they would be manufactured with glass, and already in the nineteenth century, with pressed glass, which provided greater durability. This is a superb decorative set perfect for decorating in a showcase or for being used in a very special occasion.Silver Weight: 470 gr Dimensions: 27 x 24 cm
