Fantastic French Vinaigrettes with Decorative Solid Silver Stand. Mid XIX century. They stand out without a doubt in the two original bottles of smooth blown glass of elegant workmanship with both stoppers in perfect condition. The stoppers are also made of blown glass and are hollow. Magnificent support in silver carved and embossed with profuse decoration based on plant forms, scrolls and shells of great exquisiteness, which continues through the handle with delicate and sinuous forms. Attached are the French silver marks that assure its date and location (Minerva), as well as those of the silversmith: "Veyrat" (Jean Francois Veyrat, registered silversmith from 1832 to 1840). All the pieces are original and in perfect state of conservation. The cruets, as we know them today, in their most primitive form were small bottles, one for the oil and the other for the vinegar on a stand. In the early years they were made entirely of silver, but from the eighteenth century onwards they were more frequently made of glass, and in the nineteenth century in pressed glass, which allowed for greater durability. Jean Francois Veyrat was a well-known and repeatable patero who had his workshop at No. 10 of the Rue de la Tour, Paris. Although Jean Francois Veyrat's works are well known for their high quality and beauty, he was registered as a silversmith in France for only 8 years. His works are therefore highly valued because in addition to being very beautiful, they are rare to find. Precious piece to decorate or to give magnificence to a very special occasion. Measures: 33 x 25 cm (support) and 20 cm (bortellitas height). Weight of the silver: 518 gr.
