Great English samovar made of solid silver in 1899. Beautiful piece made of sterling Victorian silver, with an elegant shape and showing a numerous family shield at the front, together with the inscription VIRTUS SOLA INVICTA. It stands on an exquisite Georgian base, composed of three elegant and wavy legs with a circular base. It has a side hinge which lets the owner pour the teapots content without separating it from the base. Anyway, if we want to take the teapot separately we can remove a little pin placed in the center of the hinge and joined to it by a little chain. The burner, which was supposed to be in the center of the base, is not in its place. This splendid piece is clearly contrasted by four stamps, typical of English silver: the leopards head from the city of essay, London; the lion of the standard guarantee of the silver and the date letter d for 1899, together with the makers initials: WCLJ. All parts are clearly and neatly sealed, which is a sign of the samovars authenticity. The piece is in perfect condition with no dents, remarkable signs of wear or reparations. A real princely piece! Samovar measurements: 34 x 26 cm.
