Fine writing set made in France in 1932, in solid silver. The utensils are kept in the original case, in very good condition. There is no utensil missing; the set is complete. The silver is beautifully carved with Modernist style designs, depicting the traditional vegetal motives of this artistic style. The set is highly beautiful and valuable, above all if we consider that all the accessories are made of solid silver, except for the scissors. The set of tools is formed by a pen holder, two penknives with silver handle and steel blade, a letter opener or paper knife with silver handle and steel blade, a silver seal for wax and a pair of steel scissors. The silver utensils show the contrasts stamped on the metal, which testify for the quality of the silver. The carving on the handles is beautifully crafted, following the characteristic Modernist style whit vegetal filigrees surrounded by abstract volutes. The inside of the original case which houses the tools is covered with white satin. In the inside of the cover we can read the words Argent Contrôlé, which indicates the quality of the silver. Also, in the center of the scissors we can see a stamp with the inscription A. T. PARIS. The elegance of the interlaced initials of the seal is also highly remarkable. Overall, this beautiful writing set is the perfect accessory for the most elegant desk, being at the same time a valuable antique. Writing set case measurements: 230 mm width x 135 mm height.
