Antique Sewing Bag. France, XIX Century

Gorgeous antique sewing kit containing a series of tools made of solid silver and gold. The kit comes from France and was made in the 19th century, just like the case that contains the tools. The kit is complete and boasts a surprising beauty; it is finely decorated with hand engraved motives and shows off an undeniable charm. Inside the case there is a needle box, a needle, an unpicking hook and a pair of scissors, all of them made of solid silver with hallmarks. The thimble itself is made of solid gold and bears a hallmark too. The needle box, the needle and the hook are embellished with lovely hand-engraved symmetrical motives in a fine art deco style and truly elegant. The oval storing case is covered of red leather outside and of white satin and red velvet inside. It is also very well preserved and closes finely.
