Charming set of twin antique vases with solid-silver foot and ancient glass tops. The vases come from Sheffield, England and were made in 1897. The silver feet bear hallmarks that indicate the noble metals origin and quality. Each base bears four hallmarks, among them the silversmiths mark containing the initials H.W. The vases are in excellent condition, with no scratches or dents. The silver bases are fully covered of hand-engraved embossed volutes and shapes making up a lovely and motley decoration, very attractive and full of movement. The decoration spreads over the ample conical silver bases and ascends to the bases of the glass cups. These cups can be removed for cleaning and show off a stylized flared shape that combines perfectly with the gorgeous silver feet. Perfect to decorate a sideboard or a shelf, these antique silver-and-glass vases will stand out anywhere for their elegant and charming look. Measurements: Width: 2.7 in / 7 cm.
