Superb pair of hand-embossed 916 solid-silver trays, made in Spain in the early 20th century. The trays remain in quite good condition and stand out for their gorgeous decoration. Both bear the mark which identifies the pieces with 916 silver proportion. Both pieces are adorned with embossed scenes which depict groups of naked children in the countryside. In one of them the children have gathered under a blanket, accompanied by a dog; one of them fans a bonfire blowing through a cane. The other scene shows the kids in a vineyard, harvesting bunches of grapes. One of them is lying on the ground with a basket full of grapes on top of him. The scenes are framed by a wonderful latticework border with Pompeiian-style motifs: vases with flowers, vessels and crowns of flowers adorned with beautiful decorative details. This amazing pair of hand-embossed 91 solid-silver trays will shine on a stylish sideboard or as part of a celebration dinner table. Dimensions: Diameter: 16.34 in / 40 cm.
