Valuable manicure set made of solid silver in 1911. This wonderful set comes from England and is complete, with its original case. There is no piece missing and they all have hallmarks. These hallmarks indicate that the silver set was made in Birmingham (England) by silversmith H. Matthews. The beauty of each one of the pieces which form this set is perfectly matched by the great quality of the metal and its making, turning it into a really exceptional silver article. As stated before, the set comes in its original case which boasts a charming sea shell shape. The case is made of black-lacquered wood and the inside of the lid is covered by green satin, while the case itself is covered by dark green velvet. The case is in good condition and is a very beautiful piece, the perfect complement for the spectacular silver set. This is composed by two different scissors, several silver stylus, a small brush with well preserved bristles, a shining sponge and two small flasks made of engraved glass with silver lids. All the pieces are finely made, embellished with elegant engraved fringes in the style of the ornamental decoration from the beginning of the 20th century. This set is a highly decorative item for an elegant dressing table, but it can also be used like new. Its great looks, its ancient age and its value as a silver article turn this manicure set in a really luxurious piece, which any lover of delicate and historical items will surely appreciate as it deserves. Cases measurements: 270 mm with x 230 mm height (open).
