Attractive silver figure which depicts a cock, made in Spain in the 1960s. This beautiful sculpture is very appealing because of its great making, full of detail and so expressive. The cock seems to be alive and is in a very dynamic attitude, full of movement. Its expressiveness is enhanced thanks to the two gems, rubies or garnets, in the eyes of the animal. The feathers are worked out in detail, and each fiber seems to have been engraved in the silver. The cocks legs are also realistic, with their scaly skin and the claws, while its face has a lively expression. The feeling of movement that this figure emanates is due to the cocks pose, as the bird has been depicted while walking or as if attacking. One of the birds legs is lifted at breast level, while its wings ends touch the ground. The cocks tail is sumptuous and smart, full of big curved feathers that touch the ground and are also a support to make the figure steady. The animals head is also very nice and expressive: the cocks beak is open and its comb is upright, while the feathers of the neck are fluffy. This figure stands out because of its excellent condition and the great work that the silversmith performed in it, being a quite realistic and natural figure of an animal. It is a piece fully made of silver, and together with its intrinsic value it has a high aesthetical and decorative interest too. This silver cock is designed to stand out in the best collection of vintage silver pieces, or to decorate a very special room. Measurements: 180 mm width x 180 mm height.
