Striking pair of Spanish twin jars made of solid silver in the 1950s-60s. Their nice design turns this couple of jars into a first-class decorative item, while the quality of the silver they are made part makes them a very valuable set of pieces. Each jar weights around 450 grams, not including the counterweights they have under the bases. Stylized and aristocratic, they are a nice example of the best silversmith art and a highly appealing and valuable set. The hallmarks on the base testify for the quality of the metal and the authenticity or the jars. Their design is classical with a nice modern touch. On a circular base, which narrows upwards to make a piece in the shape of a funnel, stands the ovoid body of each jar. Just on top of it, the wide cylindrical neck of the jar opens outwards to make up the mouth. The jars bases and bodies are embellished with a simply lobed decoration, with vertical flutes that divide the surface in several softly curved areas. The neck and the mouth are even and they make a nice shine and texture contrast with the rest of the parts. The jars handles are also quite remarkable, as their design is quite different from the rest of the pieces. These parts are slim and curved in shape, being their ends decorated with half classic, half vegetal volutes. Their central part is even, designed to be comfortable to grip when pouring the jars contents. This decoration makes a nice contrast with the jars sober style, making up a highly appealing design. This pair of silver jars is a charming vintage set which will dive interest in any elegant room. Mesurements: 170 mm width (base) x 340 mm height. 900 grams of solid silver
