Amazing Spanish silver piece made around 1828. It is a simple and elegant engraved tray, made of first quality silver and with hallmarks. The tray is in very good conditions, as shiny and attractive as when it was made. Oval in shape, its edge is wavy and it is decorated with nice vegetal patterns depicting several sunflowers. The flowers, stems and leaves show are softly embossed in a highly dynamic composition, full of charm and ingenuity but with also made with great detail. The silver is well preserved, with no bumps or dents. It is clean and shiny, and the artists work is highly notable; we can even see the tools marks on the metal. The decoration depicts a big sunflower in the center from which some stems emerge. The stems are trimmed by more flowers, smaller in size, accompanied by leaves and fruits. The composition is full of movement and charm, and its realism is highly remarkable. On the other hand, the wavy edge provides the tray with even more appeal and visual interest. If we turn the tray upside down we will see some hallmarks which testify for the ancient age and quality of this silver piece. There is a rectangular hallmark with the inscription G. SANZ, flanked by two more marks. They are smaller and rectangular in shape, and the left one bears a small tower standing on the number 28; the right one bears a crowned shield and the same number. These hallmarks are the final touch for a magnificent solid silver article, which thanks to its shine and attractive look will be the star of the most special room or collection.
