Antique and elegant theodolite from the beginning of the 20th century, made by the English brand Watts & Sons in 1921. It is completely made of polished brass with nickel-plated metal details. Its sobriety and solidity are two of the most remarkable features of the design. With a lot of mobile parts, the theodolite is in good condition although one of the level capsules is broken (it can be substituted in specialized stores). In some parts of the article we can see inscriptions engraved in the metal, showing the name of the brand and a number: E. R. WATTS & SON LONDON Nº 8057. Also, in the base we can find the number and year of the patent: PATENT 114 036 - 1917. The theodolite is in its original wooden box, which has a lot of interesting details. It still has the leather strap to carry it and also the hooks, the side plates and the original lock. Inside, under the cover we can distinguish some labels with information about the article. While one of them shows the name and logo of the brand, and the address, in another one we can read the number (8132) and the date (3/5/21), hand-written. There is also a sticker with instructions to replace the instrument in the case. This nice instrument is in good condition, and so is the box that preserves it. The slight signs of wear are minor details, easily recoverable. Overall, it is a beautiful topographer instrument, perfect to enhance an elegant study or to be displayed in a showcase with the best antiques. Theodolite measurements: 140 mm base x 300 mm high x 275 mm width.
