Antique surveyor cross with compass for topographic use, made in the 19th century and in excellent working order. These items were used designed to measure the different angles of a space aiming to define distances and elevations in the most accurate way. The device that we can see in the images is an original piece more than one hundred years all, presented in its solid-wooden case. Both pieces (the instrument and its case) remain in good condition: the brass component parts show some signs of wear at the bottom, probably due to the trace of time and use. Thought, this signs only provide the item with a fine old-time patina. The top compass preserves the original glass pane; the scale remains perfectly legible and makes it possible to use the instrument as a functional item, as well as a decorative piece. The wooden case has gorgeous artisanal dovetail joints, sturdy and durable, and preserves the original brass handle, hinges and locks in fine condition too.
