Antique rounding-up machine (machine a arrondir) for watchmakers made in France circa 1850, very complete and with a wide set of accessories. This machine or tool, being different from the watchmaker's lathe, was used to round up and reduce out-of-round watch wheels and gears before grinding the teeth. To do so, the machine comes with a series of circular mills which are mounted in the mechanism, so depending on the thickness of the mill it is possible to obtain different separations between teeth. The machine is made of brass: all its component parts and pieces are original and remain in good working order. It stands on a mahogany-wooden base with a drawer containing the complete accessory set, with the numbered mills and different brass pieces and tools. Both the brass the machine is made of and the wood of the base are finely preserved and make up a piece which exudes charm, beauty and authenticity. This antique rounding-up machine for watchmakers is worthy to belong to a museum of science and technology, but also to an ambitions collection of technical antiques. Dimensions: Base: Width: 10 in / 25 cm. Depth: 6.3 in / 16 cm. Machine: Height (with base): 11.61 in / 29.5 cm. Wheels Diameter: 7.48 in / 19 cm.
