Gorgeous antique Napoleonic light-cavalry officers sword model An XI, made in France circa 1810 and in amazing condition. This piece stands out for its sober and elegant design: the fine brass hilt makes a nice contrast with the silvery-metal sword, decorated with delicate gold-plated embossed motifs. The blade is greatly preserved and shows no signs of rust or wear. The gold-plated motifs depict different symbols: laurel wreaths, bunches of flowers, still lives with musical instruments and weapons They are carefully made and provide the sword with a very special appeal. The hilt is made of brass; the D-guard divides in three branches that meet the cross-guard through an almond-shaped brass piece. The cross-guard is finished by a curved upper quillon. The grip is made of wood and preserves the original twisted wire. The saber-swords scabbard is also made of steel and bears gold-plated locket, mouth and rings. The contrast between the two metal shades and the fine blade decorated with embossed gold-plated motifs turn this antique Napoleonic saber-sword into a very special piece, worthy of inclusion in a museum of war history.Measurements: Total Lenght: 38 in / 95 cm.
