Amazing antique engineer officers saber-sword model 1860, made in Spain circa 1900. This is a fine antique weapon in very good condition, with a lovely engraved steel blade and a fine alpaca grip. The scabbard that comes with the sword is not the original. The blade is entirely covered by engraved motifs composed of vegetal-inspired elements, volutes and other elements that make up a symmetrical and stylish design. At the top of the blade we can see the engraved inscription FAB. DE TOLEDO. The hilt has a D-guard and an upper quillon; on the other hand, the guard bears an engraved motif depicting a crowned tower, the symbol of the Army corps of engineers. The grip is outside covered by an engraved alpaca plate; inside we can see the wooden piece with a fine ebony-like finish in great condition. The lovely decoration of the grip and the blade turns this saber-sword into a highly decorative piece with a strong personality. Measurements: Total Length: 36 in / 90 cm. Blade Length: 30.4 in / 76 cm.
