Antique ceremonial sword which once belonged to a German Nazi non-commissioned officer, made in Germany and dated circa 1940. This is a fully original piece which preserves its fine ancient look and witnessed dark and historically-relevant times. The sword is in good condition; the only sign of wear that can be appreciated is a small trace of rust at the bottom half of the scabbard. This detail, though, does not interfere with the pieces considerable beauty. The hilt is composed of a brass engraved cross-guard and an ebony-finished wooden grip in wonderful condition and with the complete twisted wire. The D-guard bears a fine engraved decoration and ends at the pommel, shaped as a lions head. The beast has red crystal eyes (original from the time) and is holding the D-guards end between its jaws. The brass reinforcement that covers the grips back is decorated with hand-engraved leaves. This superb antique ceremonial sword of a German Nazi infantry non-commissioned officer is a historic and original piece, very interesting for any collector.
