Antique British infantry officer sword model 1822 made in the Victorian Era. This fine weapon is dated in 1872 and has survived to our days in good condition, with just slight flaws due to the trace of time and use. The grip is somewhat loose and part of the leather covering is missing, though the twisted wire is complete and well preserved. Otherwise the sword looks fine and shows no relevant signs of rust or wear. The blade is decorated with subtle classic flowery motifs which accompany an inscription with the manufacturers name and address: C. Haeskell 125 New Bond London. The D-guard is made of brass and shows off a stylish desing which combines a classic engraved decoration with wavy quillons. The cross-guard contains an openwork motif with a royal coat of arms and some intertwined letters. The black leather scabbard preserves the brass locket and chappe, as well as the ring to hang the sword from the strap. This antique British officer infantry sword will shine in any collection or wall for its ancient age and inherent beauty. Measurements: Blade Length: 82 cm. Total Length: 96 cm.
