Fascinating Italian sword for cavalry officer model 1888 forged in the late 19th century and in good condition. This weapon was active until 1920, just after World War I: it was present in the content, one of the most relevant and terrible in the history. The sword comes with its original steel scabbard, also well preserved. The steel both pieces are made of shows a delicate patina created by the trace of time which provides them with a very special character. The blade bears a beautiful acid-etched decorated composed of symmetrical motifs, many of them Italian symbols. The hilt mounts a dark solid-wooden grip with hand-carved gaps for the fingers. The D-guard, the pommel and the back of the grip are made of steel too; the first boasts an original bowl-like shape which ends in a straight cross-guard.
